Transformation
June 10 2002
A while back, I was thinking about Jesus in the tomb, and wondering if a transformation process was going on, while he lay there in the tomb. Was there a magic something that was happening to Him there in the tomb, that made Him the Resurrected Christ? Or was it something that actually was happening throughout His life, and what happened in the tomb was only the last stage of it. Perhaps what happened in the tomb, wasn't the last stage of it? Maybe what happened in the tomb was only part of something else even bigger. Something that is still going on even today.
Then I thought about another dark place, another place of transformation. Have you ever noticed how the words tomb and womb, are so much alike? In the womb another transformation is taking place, and mother is there, watching the baby grow, feeling it form.
I wonder if the One Consciousness, Source, That that is in all things, is like the mother, watching, feeling the baby of human consciousness, form inside Itself. Loving it grow, watching the process taking place? Watching, feeling, not separate from, but a part of the transformation taking place?
I wonder if Jesus knew what was happening when he was in the tomb. Does the caterpillar in the chrysalis know it is becoming a butterfly? Did Jesus know that He was in the process of becoming the Resurrected Christ? It is speculation on my part, but I think He knew because He had already so aligned His identity with that of Higher Consciousness, He knew what was going to happen.
Are we aware of the transformation taking place in our own lives, in every day, and in every moment? Transformation is taking place right now, even as you read this article. I believe transformation is the way the Universe unfolds in all Its perfection. It is always happening, the never-ending story.
I think we can become aware of the transformation taking place and play an active part in it. I believe it is what we are meant to do. It is one of the reasons we came to earth. We came to be the vehicles for transformation, to transform consciousness. We do it by remembering who we are.
How does the consciousness that is you, identify itself? Most people identify with their bodies, their fears, their jobs, roles, wounds, illnesses, wealth or lack of it, and so on. Do you identify with your wholeness, your wellness, your abundance? Most of us have a real mixed bag of identifications. Some parts of us identify with the former and some parts with the latter. We are not totally aligned in all our levels with how we identify ourselves.
I think that's what Jesus was trying to teach us. He was teaching us to live our lives with the identity of ourselves as aspects of God. This is not an overnight process. It is a life's journey, perhaps lifetimes of journeys.
We must go into the tomb of our own darkness and find the parts in our sub-conscious, where we are not aligned with the Truth of who we are. In each moment we are making choices, in what we think, say or do, that are telling all the parts of ourselves, what we want to align ourselves with, how we are identifying ourselves in that moment. It is an on-going process. It helps to be compassionate with ourselves in the process, to remind ourselves we are becoming. When we do this we are supporting the transformation process and our becoming.
Maybe this Earth is like a "Cosmic" tomb, a place of darkness where transformation is taking place. Humanity as whole is a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Maybe we are all in the body of Christ and transforming. Could it be the Christ Consciousness within each of us, is watching like the mother, loving what is happening inside itself, growing and transforming, about to be birthed? I like to think so. |
