Hypnosis dates back to ancient civilization where its use was included in activities such as fire walking, meditation, and various natural healing arts. Through its evolution, it has proven itself as an effective therapeutic modality. As education in hypnotherapy continues to grow, the trend in our society is one of increased credibility.
After the American Medical Association's endorsement of hypnosis in its methods and applications in 1958, there has been a notable expansion in its methods and applications. Although hypnotherapy cannot be considered a panacea, nor a replacement for proper medical attention, it has been proven to produce quick, effective, therapeutic changes that are atypical of other forms of treatment.
The uses of hypnotherapy are virtually limitless, addressing common psychosomatic problems such as: weight control, smoking, addiction, insomnia, fears, phobias, habits, low motivation, anxiety, stress, headaches, and other problems including, but not limited to, memory retrieval, self image, pain management, sports attainment, performance anxiety, and more.
Garry Rondeau of the BARDO Hypnosis Centre is a N.A.T.H. Certified Master Hypnotherapist and Trainer. The National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists or N.A.T.H. (est. 1989) is the largest transpersonal hypnotherapy membership organization in the United States and Canada. Its' quality accelerated training programs gives it an outstanding reputation for certifying and registering professionals from a variety of backgrounds throughout North America.
Students of the BARDO Hypnosis Centre entry-level program receive a free one-year membership for N.A.T.H. (a $60 USD value) and upon graduation are sent a N.A.T.H. membership certificate, in addition to their BARDO Hypnosis Centre CHt certificate.

Certification Requirements
· Attendance Requirement: 80% of the approximate 40 in-class hours. In the event of absence, it is the student's responsibility to locate assignments and class information.
· Research Assignment: A short book report of the student's choosing is due within 30 days of the end of class. It must be related to hypnotherapy.
· Induction Assignment: An induction assignment, which is assigned in class, is due within 30 days of the end of class.
· Open Book Exam: An open book final exam is given at the beginning of class and is due on the last day of class. It is advisable for the student to read the course text before the class, if possible.
After completing these requirements and receiving certification, students may display "CHt" or "Certified Hypnotherapist" after their name. Each will receive an attractive certificate of completion from NATH.

The first half of the program involves study from the course text, Clinical Hypnotherapy: A Transpersonal Approach, (provided free as part of tuition by BARDO Hypnosis Center, a $27.95 USD value); it is highly recommended that the students pre-read this text in preparation for the on-site training. The second half entails various interventions using a combination of traditional hypnotherapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, NLP, and introductory regressive transformational models. The second required text book, also provided by BARDO Hypnosis Centre, is Script Magic ($39.95 USD value).
. The NATH training manual (given to students the first day) makes it easy for students to follow the course. Once students build a clinical working knowledge of the hypnotic phenomenon, they proceed through intermediate and advanced hypnotherapy training. Each participant will have several opportunities to experience group and individual demonstrations, applying hypnotherapy to other participants on many occasions throughout the course. Training generally includes individual demonstrations, experiential participation, audio/video, lecture, and independent study. In-class instruction involves approximately 55% theoretical and 45% experiential.

BARDO Hypnosis Centre reserves the unconditional right to grant or deny admission; however, the institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, gender, religion, national origin, or disability. Tuition is $995 pre-registered (by advertised "cut off" date, otherwise $1095 ). The textbooks and NATH manual are included. The completed registration form, a $295 deposit, and a 'goal statement' explaining why you are interested in taking the program, are required to reserve a place in the class.

** Bardo Hypnosis Centre covers the cost of first year dues when certification requirements have been met. (Tuition must be paid in full and four grading categories must be fulfilled). Approximately 12 months later, members will have the opportunity to rejoin through the mail.
